I am a BlackBerry manager for a large firm, and I just stepped out of a meeting with AT&T and RIM representatives with a couple pieces of disheartening news. According to AT&T's software roadmap, OS4.5 is not due until July. That is not to say that other carriers won't release it earlier and we can get it there, but AT&T's official release is months away.
Also, I got to see and play with a demo 9000! Here's the kicker... it was just handed over to AT&T's hardware development department recently, and it takes a minimum 16 weeks for their certification for network use. Their release schedule shows it coming out in AUGUST. Can I wait that long?? We shall see!
There are talks of the 9000 being out in June or July but not set in stone. It will have 4.6 as Kevin has told all of us, so I may start cleaning out the couch and saving for the 9000 if I get my hands on one to test and like it.
Thanks for the update I was hoping sometime this month for ATT guess I will have to suffer longer scared to try the beta.
Exactly, yea I don't have all the bells and whistles but it works. I rather not have to go to the nuked BB link. Good things come to those that wait so ill wait and enjoy my 8800 for what it is and for what a bought it for in the first place.
