    Just thought I'd post this tip I saw. You can make your BB display the signal strength in numbers rather than bars. Hold ALT and type NMLL (double tap for the N). Anything from 90 to 50 is considered excellent. To switch back to the bars, just hold ALT and type NMLL again. This might give you a more accurate idea of how your reception is.

    Pretty cool.

    I didn't have to do anything with the N though.. I just typed NMLL

    Problem is you can't see the readings depending on the theme you're using...

    I figured if I never knew about it...others may not either. It's really just a "more accurate" way of seeing your radio reception.

    Is there a way to do this with the battery? Like alt bmll?

    If you go into the phones files and change this

    BatteryPercent = DeviceInfo.getBatteryLevel();

    LabelField Label1 = new LabelField();

    Label1.setText(""+BatteryPercent+"%");

    you can use the above code to display battery percent

    You can also view your log files with alt-LGLG

    I didn't know it. So even though it was posted a year ago I never would have seen it! Thanks for posting!

    These are not all for the Storm but, there were BlackBerrys that actually worked before the Storm was released.

    Too small to see at a glance and I never really check battery power as I carry two-four batteries at all times anyway..

    im at -102

    its not more accurate. its just a numerical way to look at it. the bars are a visual representation of that number. i would make the argument that the bars are more accurate, because its easier to recognize when you have a good signal.

    Actually, that (-) is the normal nomenclature for decibels (signal strength) reading.. it is suppose to show as a minus figure. For example, mine just showed as -92, which is pretty good.

    That is correct, the higher the number, the better the signal strength. The negative sign is just the way signal stregth is measured in Decibels.

    Actually, -102 is not really good compared to -92. To say, "The higher the number, the better the signal strength" is accurate, but that can be misleading. Because the strength is essentially being measured in negative integers, -102 is not higher than -92. It might be better put as, "-102 is a much lower signal level than -92."
