    Has anyone had this work for them? ive done it from my house where i have 5 bars and ive tried to send my location from an open field with 5 bars as well. And both times i received an error saying unable to retrieve current location.

    I believe this is tied into the bbmaps, which does not work on AT&T phones.

    I could be wrong but that's what we've assumed.

    well i have sprint tour and can't get it to go either. I have full signal strength and still get this error

    The only way i have found to send location to a BBM Contact is to open BlackBerry Maps, Start GPS Navigation, then Send Location to Messenger Contact.

    When i try to send location via the BBM app, i always get failed.

    So, try to initiate the sending from BlackBerry Maps instead of from BBM.

    also make sure that your gps location is turned on under options menu it worked for me

    Hm. So I have deleted bb maps. And it doesn't work for google maps. Anyone know if there's an ota for bb maps?.

    There is no OTA link for BlackBerry Maps unfortunately. You need to hook up to PC and add using DM.

    Wish everything was OTA!

    I get the same "unable to retrieve location" message when I try but it works fine when a friend of mine sends his location from a t-mobile curve.

    For all those Sprint Tour users with this problem:
    I just upgraded my OS to .57 and now the send location feature works like a dream!! As does the GPS on Gmaps!
