A new Bat Screensaver and charging monitor is expected to go to beta testing this week, and needs to be tested on the following platforms:
Tour with 5.0
Tour with 4.7
Storm with 5.0
Storm with 4.7
Bold with 5.0
Bold with 4.6
Curve 8900 with 5.0
Curve 8900 with 4.6
Flip
Pearl
Curve 8330 with 5.0
World 8800
8700/8703e
I would like just one tester per platform, please.
There will be a lot to test, but you'll be getting Bat Screensaver free and also I Charge Cool if you don't already have that. If you do have it, you'll be getting the update free (2.0 is going to be a paid update). I'll need a promise to fully test the pre-release Bat Screensaver and the I Charge Cool update, both individually and together. Getting them to integrate (i.e. having one show as the screensaver and the other when you plug in to charge) may take a few iterations of reinstallation and rebooting before one version works on all platform and OS combinations.
Thank you. I expect the betas to be sent out toward the end of this week. You can reply in the thread and the 1st volunteer for each platform/OS combo listed above will be the tester for that. Thanks again!
A beta of the new "Bat Saver" screensaver and charging monitor is now available. I think the coupons will only work directly at the store's content provider since the products are not published yet:
- App worked fine for a while then started throwing Null Pointer Exception every time started, debugger useless since it freezes when that happens.
- The first time the app is run after installed, the bat mislocates toward the top-left corner for a moment, but the problem does not recur.
- When installed at the same time as I Charge Cool 1.2, one or other of the apps will be unable to auto-start. This problem will be resolved with the next update to I Charge Cool, there's nothing wrong with Bat Saver.
No, thank _you_, but all you have to do is click one of the links above, the 1st one is a partially-complete product page and the others are preset shopping-cart links.
Just downloaded and looked at the different settings. WOW!
That's crazy and also a little intimidating, just thinking about all the variations.
Well, I hope it's not -cra-zy- , but the idea is that for once I'd like to get something fully right from the day it hits the market, and then just move on to other things instead of being consumed with upgrades and support for two months as happened with I Charge Cool, and I'm still buried in that too.
edit: I also tried to put the essentials in the menu and leave all the nitty gritty for those who really like to tweak their apps. Most users should not _have_ to go into the big settings page, at least I don't intend that they should have to, just if they want something to play with while waiting in line somewhere, there's something to mess with and customize their phone.
I wasn't saying intimidating and crazy from a consumer. I was speaking from the testers side of it.
I think it's nice to have an app that you can customize just how you want it.

Oh, I see. Testing sure has been a problem, I would fix something and find out later that the fix broke something else because there are so many interrelations. I thought this would be out two weeks ago, but here we are.
