This is my first theme. Inspired by russnash's hurricane theme, which was ever so close to what I wanted, I set out to create my "perfect" theme. As the name suggests, it's the standard precision theme with a few adjustments here or there to clean up the homescreen and let me see my background better.

This theme requires the 5.0.0.230/238 OS, or an 8520.

Features:
-Background shows up on both the home screen and app screen, can be changed to user preferences.
-Homescreen banner size reduced to be the same size as the app screen banner.
-App screen banner is translucent like the home screen banner.
-Unselected icons have no background on the home screen.
-No application name shown when hovering over an icon. (There's now a version which does display this, by request.)
-Today Version: New messages/appointments appear when messages and calendar are highlighted, and you can scroll up to view them.
-All fonts behave per normal and are sized according to system settings rather than hardcoded in the theme.

Weather:



Put your weather app (I use weathereye) in the seventh icon position for this to work. You can go to the weather by rolling to the right when you have profiles selected.

Nothing fancy, but I like it and am happy to share. If anyone has any suggestions for improvements, or would like to see this theme in a different style, I'm all ears.

Great theme! Out of curiosity, can it be made so that when you move to an icon on the home screen it says what the icon is? For instance if I hover over one of my email icons it will say which one it is?

The only suggestion I have is to use one of the BB default fonts for the hidden today that has the shadow behind it, then the today will be easily read on any background.

If anyone likes this theme, I recommend updating it every now and then, as I'll no doubt be tweaking it a good bit as I learn the plazmic ropes a bit more.

honestly, that's not really what i'm going for. i'm really not a fan of the dark blue background, which is half of why i made this. i might crank out a one-off for you and any other fans, but it won't likely be updated like the "supported" versions.

i have cooked up a weather version for everyone, though, which i'll post in a few minutes once i can get a screen shot.

Thanks for this. I'm using the weather w/ app name on my 8330, .230 and its working great.

Is there any reason why scrolling is a tad bit laggy while on the home screen? It isn't like this when the icons screen is displayed.

Is the only way for the weather icon to be selected is by first scrolling onto the profile icon then moving to the weather icon? Is that the only way it can be designed?

I know you said it wouldn't be a supported version but also wouldn't mind seeing the homescreen image strictly on the home screen. If you choose not to make one, no big deal.

i haven't created a no-dock version. sorry. i am planning on creating a version with hidden dock in a couple of weeks. i'm moving this weekend so won't have the time.

i've updated all versions to fix a font issue. now the date fonts match on both the app and home screen banners. so now's a good time to update.

there's also a one-off version with the awful blue/black background.

i have seen that others have replied to this thread not being able to install the themes. I have tried OTA and zip and neither work. Anyone else having these issues? The themes will not even show up in options. OS 5.0.0.230

The .230/.238 hybrid is required for this theme. OS 5 by default on the 8330 doesn't seem to support precision based themes. Probably for asinine marketing reasons.

I for one think this is the perfect theme as well. At least for me the today version with bottom dock app names was . One thing though. I used it for a while while running the 5.0 hybrid on my 8330, but I had to go back to the 4.5 OS due to a couple of issues that I couldn't deal with. Is there any way you could port the theme over to 4.5? I would greatly appreciate it.

sorry, but i just updated the basic today theme thinking you made a simple upgrade to it, but it looks like you changed the font size for the displayed today items. the last iteration i had, the font was smaller, and you could read more of the today item. now the font is bigger and takes up too much space on the home screen. can you change the font size back to a smaller text?

i like the weather today version too, but can you make another weather today version that does NOT display the app name?

Edit: All i'm looking for is a copy of your original theme file with the smaller "Today" font, and maybe another version with the weather slot. thanks.
