Hey all,

I just wiped/reinstalled my friend's Verizon 8230 with VZ's latest official firmware.

Here's the problem: there are no sounds!

When I say there are no sounds, I mean that in Profiles, there are options for Tone, Vibrate, Number of Beeps, Volume, etc, but there's no selection for the actual sound (tone) that will be played. Same if I try to create a custom profile, and the same if I try to set a personalized ringer.

Any ideas? I don't even know where to start!

I've gotten pretty good with BBSAK from upgrading/wiping my Storm numerous times, but I'm at a loss here...

Have you checked the mute button on the top of the phone to the right? If that's not turned on, then OS reload didn't go thru correctly and you're going to need to re-do it.

would the mute button actually remove the sound options in profiles?

i guess another reload is in my future...

I didn't read the message carefully enough, Yeah the mute button isn't the issue. It's the OS. Just reload it, and if it's still having the sound issues afterwards call Tech Support. Since it's a VZW supported update that caused the issue they can replace it.
