I tried to find the person that made this find had no luck. But you know who you are and thanks in advance. I know a lot of people miss QP on .230 so here is a reset option for you. I brought this up cause I didn't even know this till today.

Also it was pointed out in another thread that simulating a battery pull is as easy as dialing ##000000 in the phone app, hitting send and entering vzw for the SIP password. BB button > Save and it resets. Only drawback is you can't schedule a reset. by the way I used my own SIP password and my device will still reset. So I don't think you have to use VZW as the password. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

It worked with the earlier cdma builds but stopped working with .148, I believe. I used to use it all the time and when it wouldn't work anymore, resorted to quickpull lite.

I cant seem to get this to work. I hit the ##00000 and it says VZW password needed and then nothing. What am I doing wrong?

I think this as a solution is a joke. Seriously. It is like 9 steps long. Why not use memory eye?

It worked for me. Hitting send brings up a page with info about your device. You have to scroll down to where it has space for your SIM password. I entered "vzw" and then hit the BB key, selected "Save", and the device reset.

Worked on .230. But, I agree with McCracken. Kind of long just for a reset...

I do this on my .230 storm and all it does is lock my storm as if I hit the lock button, at least after I type in "##000000"

    huh.

What's a joke about it? MemoryEye isn't free and this is. 9 steps? It's like dialing a phone number and punching in a VM password. AND it reboots faster than most apps that "wait" to reboot.

It's not the perfect solution, but it's a great work around, especially for those of us who have cases and find it a PITA to take it off every time we need a reboot.

Ok so all you with the paid app memoryeye use that and don't worry about this thread it works great for me and there are two steps I guarantee you I can reset mine like this before you all can with memoryeye and I didn't pay for this or take up usefull space on my phone. Its like killin a fly with your hand when you have a flyswat in the other.

Works like a charm. Only question is what exactly is it doing when it says write successful right before it resets the device?

I can't say that I would recommend this. This screen contains a lot of setting on how the phone connects to the service provider. It is never a good idea to be in this screen unless you know what you are doing or talking to tech support. Yes, it does do a soft reset if you change a value on this screen but you are making connection changes to the device. That is why you receive a message "Wirte Successful. Restarting Device"

Buy a quick pull application or just pull the battery, either way avoid the ##000000.

Note: The vzw password in the SIP Password field doesn't apply to all carriers, only Verizon. You mess up that password and you can and will lose your data connection.

i had problems with data after changing the password before... I was told by VZW tech that the password should never be changed from vzw
