ok heres the situation... I finally had time to download 5.0.238 for my 8900. problem is when i hook up my berry to the DM and go to the updATE SOFTWARE PORTION there is an asterix(*) beside 5.0.238 with a note at the bottom saying "Only active Blackberry service subscribers are entitled to install this Blackberry device software upgrade" ??????

so confused, my berry is active with a data plan on the Rogers, is this because i unlocked it the other day? any help anyone has would be greatly appreciated!!

load your OS through loader, make sure you delete the vendor.xml file. Don't use DM

vendor.xml has been deleted already... what is loader? i thought i had to use DM?

It would be saved somewhere in your c drive...make sure DM is closed...

loader is the easiest and quickest way. Go to my computer>C:>program files>common files>research in motion>apploader(this is where you delete vendor file), then go to loader and if the OS is loaded on your computer it will find the new OS
