Anyone downloaded this yet? What are the changes? Is that horrible chirp still there?

Just came out an hour or so ago, take the plunge.

It is a newer platform, so the chirping has hopefully been resolved.

Well.... OK I'll report back once it is done and I have a chance to make a call and check for chirping.

Good stuff Wulf. Hopefully this will be the keeper until an official 5.0 release.

So what files are different between .169 and .170?

Does it use the same radio cods?

    Notes so far -

All the annoying Facebook birthday entries are now in my Default Calendar. Twice. Had to use DM to delete them.

Installation changed my wallpaper to default, but that's clearly easy to fix.

Installation deleted the QuickPull app. But again easy to get back.

Took me several tries to get Google Sync working again. Almost had a panic attack, but it seems to be fine now.

I think I had about 3MB additional memory at startup.

Not yet sure about status of chirp, as I'm still making sure all my information and apps are as they should be. Will let you know.

Good to hear, but the chirp is random and sporadic. It doesn't occur on every call, unless you're very unlucky.

Don't get me wrong, I'm hoping the chirp is gone for good.

I fell into that very unlucky category, or at least it seriously seemed that way. I dont really make a lot of calls though.

Anyway, I hope it is truly gone for good as well!

I just installed this, but Desktop Manager doesn't detect my BB as needing to be upgraded. What gives?

Disconnect and try it again, but you really would do better to use apploader.exe anyway.

I tried disconnecting and reconnecting, and I tried restarting my computer and BB. Apploader gave me "No actions are required." My BB is on 4.5.0.131 and I'm using DM 5.0.

I also tried installing the latest official update from Sprint, but it didn't detect it either.

I'll be taking the plunge with this once my replacement shows up from VZW today. Still waiting on FedEx right now. I haven't upgraded since .131, but I'll let everybody know how it goes, and what findings I have.

Anybody else take the plunge yet? Sounds so far like it possibly could be a little laggy, and the chirp may or may not be gone in some cases. And of course, as with most OS update, free memory was optimized even more. Anybody else?

DM 5.0 installs a "ghost" copy of the vendor.xml file on your computer as a hidden file. Do a search for vendor.xml, making sure you choose Advanced search, which includes hidden and system files. Search your entire main hard drive. Delete the file when you locate it.
