You're lucky!!!! For a bunch of us, the screen dims upon inactivity like it's supposed to but it never comes back to life - it's not turned off, rather it's actively displaying black.

That bug right there was one of the many that had me go back to a 4.7 OS. That would be your fix.

Although not as noticable, This issue has been present since 4.7.0.151, in the 4.7 OS's it only happened mildly and not often, It is an issue in 5.0 that has been happening since .140, It doesn't really bother me much anymore, I've been using 5.0 firmware since .140 dropped a few months ago.

It usually happens when switching from portrait to landscape. I just go back to portrait, scroll up and down to "un-dim" the screen and to keep it lit, I keep my finger on the screen while rotating to landscape.

The dimming doesn't bother me that much. I think it's just a minor issue, as for the going black and not coming back on with a simple press of a button or the screen, I haven't experienced this in .230. I didn't try any of the other 5.0 leaks though.

I even tried the 230/238 hybrid in hopes it would fix that but NOPE it's still there so it's back to 6v10 for me....that seems to be what my phone likes best at this point......from what I've seen there is NO difference whatsoever in 230 and 238 so if you had problems with 230 you will with 238 too......

I just figure this is the same as with the audio problems, I think RIM is weeding out the bugs with the more important OS applications and will prolly take care of these minor issues last before we get a new official.

Did it for me too, didn't like it at all. Did it with all 5.0 OSs. Also one of the reasons I went back to 151.
Never seen it happen with 151, or 167 the short time that I ran it. 151 has always been rock solid for me and I'll probably stick with it until a much less buggy 5.0 gets leaked, might even wait for an official version. ****, the S2 might be out by then or just around the corner,,,lol

I agree.....there are some really nice features with 230 but I would rather wait till the bugs are fixed....at least we know what's coming so that's a good thing.

So far the bugs are minor and dont effect me much so Im staying with .238.
