I have a 8830 curve World Edition

which I bought from alltel (now verizon) apparently unlocked - I paid a fortune for that too

I'm currently in England and finding out that none of my english sims will work on this phone (says sim card rejected) and I am hoping that its because its locked

my IMEI is

Is it possible to get it unlocked? I'm trying to google it like crazy but my browser is pushing me at all the english sites

its is u jus have to call ur sp and ask
for the cdma/gsm versions its a lil harder to get since the sp most likely wont give u it
u jus have to bs a story that ur traveling overseas
and ur job is giving u a local # for work and u want to use ur blackberry

My only issue is this

I paid to terminate my contract with alltel because we had so many issues with them so the support is pretty much not interested in talking to me when I call even though I bought my phone apparently 'unlocked' and paid good money for it

I will keep trying though
