So interesting non the same.
It shows up when you have your phone's network is set to global technology, going to mobile network options and switching to 1XEV takes you back to the old 1XEV icon

Not for me. Just says 3G and has a blackberry icon next to it. They split it up. Much more simple the way its listed now. The 1XEV 1xev 1X 1x was confusing.

Absolutely false. It is a bug because it switches between 3G and 1XEV. Could be they want 3G going forward. But changing from global to 1XEV has 0 to do with it.

I agree....mine says 3G ever since I installed 5.0 whether it's on Global or just 1XEV settings. The only time I ever see 1X is right after a reboot or if I turn off the radio and turn it back on. As soon as it gets signal it changes from 1X to 3G.
I'm guessing they haven't "built" a CDMA version of the Zen theme. It showed 3G on my phone, but some themes showed 1XEV... still don't know why anyone cares.

Then why would it say 1XEV on zen theme on 4.7 or earlier 5 builds, and even just every now and again on .230.
It is just a bug in how they are labelling it.

i don't understand why anyone actually cares that it now says 3G....i'm more impressed with the speed and stability...someone needs to lock this post...i think i saw the same post 3 or 4 times now
