Just an FYI, Sprint Navigation was upgraded from 2.1 to 2.8 today. Can't really tell what changes were made besides a 'night mode' and a new option to force 'recalculating route'. Also, the lady's voice quality is cleaner. Anyone else know of any changes?

And the Sprint navigation site is up again (It was down for a few days) with the Pre-Trip Planner and the ability to input addresses in the web and sync them to your phone. I don't know what's different because I'm a new 8330 owner. GPS bundle was the main reason I chose Sprint Curve 8330 so I'm pretty happy it gets updated.
I was wondering if there is any way to preload the maps into your phone. It was possible with Nokia / Ovi Maps 3.0, maps showed up instantly. With Sprint Navigation it reloads the maps every single time via internet and eg. zooming in and out is slow... But as a car navigator it works fine, the traffic info is a major plus in LA.
I opened mine up this afternoon and was prompted to DL the new version. Did the old version have movies and weather in it also? I just noticed it tonight, pretty cool feature.
I opened Sprint Nav as I was reading this and it prompted me to dl new version also just waiting for it to finish then I will play with it and see whats new.

I didn't know about these in 2.1, but I can only find "Movies", where is "Weather" located?
Also What is "Sprint Navigation Premium" and "Sprint Navigation lite"? I took the Product Tour and it shows differences between the two, I didn't pay for anything but I have the Premium Features. Maybe just a part of the Everything Data package
So far I noticed it locks on faster and it also locked in on location faster and the map also loaded faster. It also switch to night time voice sounds louder and I put in an address out of state and it mapped the route in 5 seconds. Also give you traffic info and I noticed it can also track your speed when driving. That's my little review will check it out a little more and post later if no one beats me to it.
Sprint Nav 2.8 is not available for the Tour Yet. Go to Sprint Navigation and select supported phones and it lists all versions for which phone model... That is why the Curve users are able to upgrade and Tours cannot.....
I too received the prompt to upgrade when I last fired up Sprint Nav
In the set-up area has any disallowed access to emails, sms, etc.? I'm just curious why it appears to need access to every area of the BB unless the newest version has the ability to email or txt us directions or info?
This is a pretty silly question, but what's the address for Sprint Mobile. I'm trying to get to the dashboard thingy to download Sprint Nav....y'all know what I'm talking about? Where you can download sprint apps/themes and all that stuff?
