Rumour has it that it wont be official until the release of the Storm 2. Thats expected late October BUT could be delayed if the Storm 2 release is delayed.
I've had dealings with the mods on that forum before, don't hold your breath.
At least VF has visible moderators that give some level of public information.. not the "my third cousin once removed was talking to some VZW rep who said that the next release will be last Tuesday."

Whilst we do not have any definite information on when the firmware will be available we understand that RIM will be launching the Storm 2 with version 5 included and that at this point all users with 4.6 or greater will be able to upgrade. However, we have no word on when this will be.
And guys, you need to remember here in the UK we DONT GET THE 9530, so ANY discussion on the vodafone forum is 9500 related. So that statement confirms UK 9500 users will deffinatley be getting a 5.0.??? upgrade at some point soon.

I was looking at the back of my phone this morning and noticed this! Maybe they just used the same outer case to fit all the hardware in and never realised the case said this??
