If youre a T-Mobile subscriber itching to get your hands on the latest and greatest, it looks like November 11th might be a date you want to jot down in your planner. Why, you ask? According to one of our ninjas, a T-Mobile higher-up has pegged November 11th as the tentative launch date for both the BlackBerry 9700 and the Motorola CLIQ. Wow. Have two more highly anticipated handsets ever launched with the same carrier on the same day? Now, to be crystal clear, this date is relayed to us as tentative so nothing is set in stone just yet. Where the CLIQ is concerned, the 11th definitely lines up well with the late-October pre-sale and the 9700 has been rumored to launch in November as well. On a related note, were hearing AT&T will launch the 9700 around the same time as T-mo, while Rogers will once again beat the US to the punch with a mid to late-October launch.
if 11/11/09 is the release date for this 9700 3g blackberry, will the 3g service for blackberry be available earlier in preparation for the release date?

i have an unlocked storm and i just want 3g.....
It doesn't matter because the Storm uses a different 3G frequency than TMO uses.
Oh a release date finally surfaced? This is so tempting. Wondering if tmobile 3g network is well worth it. 8900 is basically 2.75g and its kind of a pain when u want to watch a youtube video out of nowhere and waiting for it to load.
Anybody here has or used a mytouch or g1? How's the 3g speed?

As much as I wish for a Storm 2 with TMO 3G support, I think I will get this first ever 3G BB for TMO as soon as it comes out. It's been a long enough wait for a 3G BB for me with TMO.

I though the stom would run on t mobile's 3g. At least that was what was dicussed in another forum on here.....
Can someone clarify
The current Storm's lone GSM 3G band is 2100. That works fine is Europe and Asia, but no North American carrier operates using that band. T-Mobile USA's 3G is a 1700/2100 combo.

Are you kidding? Is that a serious reply? The person asked if there is anything besides 3G that's different between the 9700 and 8900. All you did was repeat information that the poster already implied in his message. I might as well say that the number 8900 is different than the number 9700.

i rely on Wifi for my service at home, no carriers really get service at my house so i use the hotspot at home feature with my 8900.....but i havent been on crackberry in months cu i broke my lap top and been working alot........does the 9700 have wifi and 3g , or just 3g.....im intrigued just learning about the 9700 now what else does it feature and where can i find more info on it?????
here is foreign exchange
If the 9700 is just an upgrade from the BOLD 9000 then it should have BOTH Wifi and 3G. It will be very disappointing if it only has 3G but no wifi.
It should just be like the BOLD except a higher pixel camera (3.2 vs 2.0) and a track pad instead of a track ball.
Don't buy the 9700 and expect too much on Tmobile horrible current 3G service though. However, buy the phone for the future as 3G will be redily available everywhere then.
only want it for wifi haha and that track pad curious to see how that is so it will have the same processor as the bold, which is faster then the 8900
????????
