It depends on the price and how many good reviews it would get when it first comes out.

Considering that T-mobile here does not support EDGE then that would have to be a resounding YES!!!

I don't think I will be getting the 9700 since I just got the 8900 in march. I don't want to pay full price and my 8900 has been good to me.

In a heartbeat... and as soon as it's available over here, I will be

I've loved my 8900 since the day it came out, but she's looking tired and old now so time for a change.
Just ordered a new housing and trackball for the old girl, then it's off to eBay for her.

Looking forward to abusing 3G again

It would depend on how much I can get it for. I love my 8900 right now so if I had to wait till my renew date to get the cheapest price then so be it.

I might but I like to try (yeah, dream on...) and keep my phones for two full years. I only bought my 8900 - at full price - last Christmas.

It could well be that by the time I am ready to change, there is something newer and even more drool making about to hit the market.

The 9700 is a fine looking and well featured phone though - at this point all my crap about keeping the 8900 for 2 years goes out the window..

Of course I will, my contract ends shortly after it's released! I will still keep it though because I enjoy the custom work I did to it. I may even sell it with the custom work done to it, because I feel like others would appreciate it.

I would, but I just got this one not even a month ago. Not looking to pay full price for a phone. I'm good with this until upgrade time. As long as I have wifi, I'm good.

Nice but no I won't be trading in my curve until next year, when my contract is up. And im sure there will be 5 new berries out by that time lol

I got my Curve in January so my contract isn't up til Jan '11. I have a little over a year left. I won't be getting one until next year...who knows, maybe they'll have a newer one out?

I would love to get one sooner but it's simply too expensive and I should wait. Besides, 3G on tmo isn't supported in my hometown or collegetown, so what's the point?

Things here are a bit different, we have to pay the full price anyway (belgium), so I will wait for a big revolution in the series to change. The only addition of 3G is not worth it for me since I use the wifi a lot.

For the price, definitely not. I feel 3g doesn't work as great as everyone says. I'm just fine with my 8900.
