A beta for the BB Storm has been released of the popular iphone App Comicreader Mobi. I use this on my ipod touch and it's excellent.

What does this do exactly? I'm on mobile cb so I don't have much time to search.

Comic Reader Mobi lets you read zip, rar, cbz and cbr files on your blackberry.

One of the things that makes it especially unique is its smart lens. you can click on any text on the page, and that section will pop out, allowing you to easily read the comic without ever having to scroll around.

when you get to a regular computer you can check out the video here:
    comicreader.mobi
(can someone with more than 10 posts link that for me?)

This is something I definitely want to try out. Opens up a whole new avenue of enjoyment for my Storm. Thanks for posting it up and thanks to the developer for putting this together.

I was using it last night, just briefly, a work-in-progress but even so this will be a great APP for all the Comic Fans here.

Plus being able to view ZIP, CBR, CBZ and RAR files must open other options to Non Comic fans too.

    * An update has now corrected this.

Note that the APP cannot use CBR files at the moment. If you do plan to use CBR file change them to RAR files.

I was able to read an entire comic this morning and it is very cool.

Thanks for the file...I got it installed and I placed a few CBRs and RARs in the root of my memory card and in the root of the on board memory and yes I put them in folders named "COMICS" and when I open the prog it says I even tried naming the folder "comic" any suggestions? Thanks....looks like its going to be great!!!

:-( Forgot to mention that I did a battery pull before posting...I am using .191, I hope that's not the issue...

From above you appear to have done everything right.

I'm using .148 so maybe the OS is the issue.

Even though I do not think it's an issue. Try having one folder called "Comics" on just your SD card.
(I had folders on both it and it worked fine but you never know)

the casing matters so make sure the folder is called "Comics" and not "COMICS"

I did experiment with that, from Comics to COMICS then a reboot and it still does appear not to be an issue

    OK. I'll try not to

If the zip file contains 1) A COD file 2) An EXE File 3) A BAT File.

    * UnZip File (Create a suitable folder)

    * Connect Storm ( Close BB Desktop Manager, if it opens up)

    * Find Unzipped File Folder.

    * Run BAT file (A DOS Window should open. Review what it tells you)

    * APP s/b in BB Download Folder.

****** I think the COD file is a separate download *******

To use this APP, you need comics.

Here is a site that appears to have free, legal, downloads.
