    Hi All

Well I just ordered my 8900 and it will be here tomorrow morning, my 8320 has served me well, my wife is going to love it like I have!

Is it easy enough to transfer all my info off my 8320 onto the 8900 as my whole life is run thru my bb

    Thanks
    Jon

Don't know specificly about the 8320 to the 8900 but when I moved from the Storm to the Curve the BB Desktop Manager did all the hard work for me.

Was a bit of a god send to be fair.

I'm not sure DM can do that, since 8320 use older OS version than 8900.. (i thought)

    Good point...
The 9500 and the 8900 are both "newer" os.

Worst case, you will need to sync your contacts, appointments etc with a PC and the sync your new device??

I know your apps will be lost but not sure they would be upward compatable with the 8900 anyway.

Using the DM will work because that's what I did when I went from the 8320 to the 8900.

You can, by choosing "Device Switch Wizard" on DM.
I used it when I switched from 8310 to 8900.

Backup files have nothing to do with OS's. Data is data so it's all good. in a properly designed system, data that is not recognized or supported will be corrected when you do the migration.

Just to confirm, this will work just fine. I backed up my 8310 and then restored that backup when I got the Bold a while back. After running the Bold for a month, I restored the backup from it onto my 8900. I have not had any problems. You can use the device switch wizard as well if you like.

Like others have mentioned, I have used DM to do a Device Switch between my old 8320 and my new 8900. Worked great with no problems. That said, I did do a full backup of my 8320 prior to doing the device switch.
