So I have a question about Blackberry Messenger. I just want to know what the check mark means, the difference between the "D" in the check mark and the "A".

I've had a blackberry for almost a year, and I just want to make sure I am understanding them correctly!

    Thanks!

the checkmark means that the message has been sent from your device.

the "D" next to the checkmark means that it has been DELIVERED to the recipient's phone.

the "A" youre referring to might be an "R"..and that would mean that the recipient has READ the message.

"A" in BBM 5.0 is the recipient is writing a message. Have you upgraded to 5.0?

i have a question as well, i have read many different reports about the bbm 5. Some things i read said that it will crash the 8330 and some say it won't.

Has anybody download the bbm 5 yet? any problems?

I've got BBM 5.0.0.8 on my 8330 with OS 4.5.0.169/.131 hybrid and haven't had any issues with BBM.

Of course make sure before adding it you have a backup and maybe even write down any really important PIN#s incase the worst should happen. Have seen far too many people on these forums not have backups for whatever reason and lose their bbm contact lists.

BBM5 offers a few different ways to view your conversations, supports longer voice notes, larger photos, larger files such as videos, and so forth. It also lets you have an avatar picture if you want.

I'll not tell anyone it's a "must have" but I will say that I was hesitant to upgrade but now that I have it, I'm glad I do.

No problems here either. I have had it for just over a month and have not experienced what others have had major issues with. I LOVE it!
