This may be in the wrong forum and if it is I apologize.
I did a *228 Option 2 this evening and got a new Verizon prl on my tour. It changed from 51468 to 51540. Did a little "googling" on it and found on the verizon forums that it was just released on 9-3-09.
Not sure yet if it has cleared up some of the signal and 1XEV to 1X fluctuation yet but I just thought I would throw the info out there.
I got the same PRL as the OP. Originally it was set to 0. This is odd because I've done PRL updates before, but the last one was in a large building. Does anyone know if updating while getting service through a network extender would cause the PRL to set to 0?

The PRL number is just how the list is identified, its name. A higher number denotes a later list than a lower number. So 51540 is an update to 51468. You generally want the most up to date list.

Just did it today and I went from 51468 to 51540 (which seems to be the latest out in my area of Nassau County, Long Island, NY)
got the same results here in ohio. i have struggled a lot with the constant fluctuation from 1X to 1XEV. saw this thread, updated PRL, and havent dropped to 1X since. battery drain hasnt been as bad either (im guessing because it isnt searching all the time?).

I just went from 51468 to 51540 here, too (northern NJ). I've also had a decent amount of fluctuation between 1X to 1XEV, so I'm hoping to see the same results as TheWiseOne (including less battery drain).
I usually do the *228/2 whenever I think of it, I guess I should make it a more regular chore.
