I need to replace my bold screen, and while i was searching for a screen, I found that that the bold has four different, incompatible screens. How can I find out which one I need ?

Look at the back of your LCD and it should list which one you have.

do i have to open up the phone? or does it just say it next to the battery or something ?

You have to take the phone apart and pull the LCD from the motherboard. The part number is on the back of the LCD, either etched into the metal or on a sticker depending on which one it is.
