TY for that note.

Now lets the voice search work for Verizon Tour 9630, when it would not before.

Perfect.

Thanks again for posting that!

Thanks so much! Now, if we could only get an update for Google Maps - it doesn't seem to recognize GPS on my Sprint Tour....it's the only 3rd party app I have that doesn't, so it must be a Google thing...

So the new mobile app didn't include an updated Google Maps?

I've been waiting for that too.

Thanks for the tip. None of the other Google apps I use seem to have been updated (Gmail, Maps, Sync).

I tried re-downloading Maps to see if there was a new version, but to no avail...

I download the app and kept receiving error messages. I then deleted google sync and it worked, but then I re-downloaded google sync and received error messages on that. Anyone have any advice on this or have both working?

I redownloaded google maps, version number did not appear to change, but I got rid of the two little things at the bottom left of the screen and it now works much better with the Tour 9630. Maybe they tweaked the workings a little bit to make it work better with the Tour 9630.

Been using sync all along, with no problems. Dunno what the problem could be with yours there.

MarvBear,

Are you using Maps, Sync, and Google Mobile App? I have tried deleting and re-download each app. I have downloaded each one in different order and its always the 3rd one I download that doesn't work. Any help would be much appreciated. The error I get is "out of memory".

yes I am using all three.

I downloaded sync and maps separately.

The first download of google maps looked like it was supposed to work on the storm version.

I then just downloaded the google mobile applications and had to disable the voice control cause it would not work with the Tour 9630.

Then when the original poster made the comment I just downloaded the google mobile application ONLY, and voila the voice commands now work.

So I went back and downloaded google maps again, version number did not change but it got rid of those two funny things in the lower left corner of the screen.

so I did it in this order.

#1 Google Sync
#2 Google Maps
#3 Google Mobile

#4 redownload Google mobile when the original post was made. allowed it to install over top of current application.
#5 redownloaded Google maps and allowed it to install over top of current application even though the version number did not change.

Works fine for me.
