I'm digging 4.5.18. For the hour-glassing i found that after installing you should:
1) Run the memory cleaner.
2) Run through all the different programs. It seems that after the first time you load each maybe something is buffered (?) because the next time it loads at a more normal speed. This seems to be especially true of the picture folder.
3) Unfortunately after doing a battery pull you have to go through that again.
4) An occasional memory clean seems to keep the speed up.
I couldn't give it up- for long. So, I reloaded .18 over 4.2(.194). I went ahead and utilized the (optimizer) thread link on here and removed "all" wallpapers(2.45mb) cod, the ptt cod, unlocked the themes and deleted all but the Vodafone and O2 and deleted a few other items mentioned in JC's link. I decided to keep the voice cods due to the new app(TellMe) I downloaded on here, unchecked BB Maps and Docs to Go(thru DM) - for now. I really have enough maps. I'm hovering around 23-25mb and dipping to 20-21mb at my lowest- so far. The leaks are still there, but I use an additional app I've downloaded that, along with the memory cleaner(Options>Security> Save), helps to consistently free up memory in the background while I'm working. Anyway, hope this helps some of you newbies. The rest of you know this already.
