It took me to wireless update, since I originally posted this I tried the wireless update and all I got was a "no update available". Now I'm sitting here just wondering why the asterisk and why did it route me to "wireless update" when there is nothing new there!
There was no message, there was an Icon which I had never seen before with an asterisk as if there was something new to see. Once I clicked on it, it took me to "wireless update" yet there is no new update available. Oh well, maybe a false alarm or a test from VZW?
By the way for elite1, I'm with Verizon.
well I think i got the same thing when I opened my DM, here is a screenshot of what I think he might be talking about... I wonder what this is all about ?
I was checking my task bar and there was a new symbol with an asterisk on it. I clicked it and it took me to the wireless update area.
I think what he's talking about may be Blackberry DM has an update. I got that the other night, even though i have the latest 5.0 installed. For some reason when i clicked on it, DM showed 4.6 again, and then changed to 5.0. That is if berrymike is talking about his Windows taskbar.
As one of the above posts recommended, go into your BB App World. I got the same notification when one of the apps I downloaded from there had an update. In fact, once you go in to App World, if you look all the way to the bottom right, the My World icon should have the * on it & when you go in there, you should see which app was updated.
Of course, this is assuming your notification was the same as mine....give it a try. Hope it helps.

It showed up when I held down my BB button to see what was running in the background it showed me a new icon with an asterisk, when I clicked it, it took me to the wireless update screen yet no new update was available.
