Long time lurker, first time poster.....

I scratched the screen on my 8900 and want to replace it. Dang coins in Australia!!!! I have no actual LCD/pixel damage as the display is a great as ever. However, the scratch is annoying as everyone agrees.

I have read on here conflicting reports. Will the whole LCD screen need to be replaced or is there a glass/plastic covering over the top of the LCD that can be replaced.

Technically, you could replace the LCD cover but, it's hermatically sealed. If you bust this seal, you'll have all kinds of problems from dust to condensation.

Just replace the entire thing.

Interesting da_hool...but if you do replace the screen I believe you would be voiding any manufactures warranty so becareful what you try on your own!
