Looking for people's feedback regarding their experience(s) with different apps with their Tour. Also, would be great to list tweaks and general tips when using these apps, that might allow for better performance.
My apps seem to be crushing my OS; overall sluggishness, random freezes, random white screen, etc.
The main culprit for me seems to be the Wall Street Journal app, which is constantly updating info. Does anyone know if there is a setting for this app where it ONLY updates its info/news when asked and not on a consistent basis?
Another one for me might be Poynt-but I have yet to figure out which one is causing more probs, yet.
Any app which pulls data in the background has the possibility to slow your device down while that data is being pulled. The only way to "tweak" that is to play with the time between pulls.
Depending on the app, and the amount of data pulled wuth each update, some may perform better pulling data more often, while some others may perform better not pulling as often. This is something you'll have to experiment with on your particular device.
I don't use the Wall Street Journal app, so I have no idea if you change the polling frequency. I'm sure that if there is a way it would be in the setup/options for that app.
The easiest way to figure out which one is more problematic is to only one run one at a time for a while and get a feel for it.

Good advice; thanks.
Is there a way to COMPLETELY wipe all of my apps without losing everything else?
Audible's app is by far the worst piece of crap I've ever seen. I always get the spinning clock when I have that app running, and it doesn't even work right half the time. Long live drm.

I was running Viigo on a Curve and it definitely slowed up the phone and drained the battery. The Tour can probably handle it better. It's a cool looking App and does some nifty stuff... it was my first Twitter App but I found Ubertwitter for that (and set it not to auto-refresh)... and other Apps for the other functions.. but if you need an RSS reader, it's good.. but you have to live with the consequences.
No Viigo for me as well. As for the poster who was accusing Google maps, I don't think that one is it. I have it installed and my Tour still reboots in 3.5 mins....knock on wood.
I have to agree with others. Viigo is a great all in 1 app but it slows my tour and locks it up from time to time. Was hanging on to it but prob gonna scrap it tomorrow

I've been wrestling with the same problem since I got my Tour a week ago. I've wiped it a few times now and it seems to work just fine, however as soon as I activate it on my company's BES servers and add AppWorld, it slows to a crawl and reboots at random times. It has rebooted itself 3 times in the past 2 hours.
Next step will be to wipe it again and *only* add AppWorld back, then see if the problem is still there.
It may not be apps, it also depends on what you have on there too ringtones, music, videos, pics? There are many factors that can come into play, each app is different though.....
