Now that we have est. arrive time for Onyx on att- around November. How much will 9700 cost for 2 year contract? Do you think att will charge $299 like they did with the Bold?

I hope $199, and NOT $299. There is only good thing about the iPhone is that it can keep other smartphone prices in check at $200.

    9700

You really think it will be that much? iPhone is only $199.

My wishful thinking is they bring it out at $199 and lower 8900 to $149.

This isn't the 8900. They won't release a 3G blackberry for less than $299 IMO. The iPhone is a different device still viewed as a toy media device.

It will likely be the 9700, and the same price as the bold when launched.

It will be the 9700. The Tour is 9630, they have to one up them. $299 most likely. Its so funny crackberrians always fall into this hysteria over a pending device, then when it comes out and has minor flaws (like all technology) it gets bashed.

Quoted for truth, but this will always be the case. People will never learn.

    oops I meant 9700.

Before Bold RIM was 98% business. When the Bold came out RIM was just beginning to expand into the average consumer market. Now that everyone agrees that RIM is in the same waters as iPhone they would release a device at $300?

Yes they would release it for $299 with contract, thats cheap for what ur getting in return.

Free in the UK on contract, on pretty much all networks that will launch with it, if you pick a high enough (30GBP-35GBP per month) tariff

Sim free I'd guess around the 500 mark or there abouts

Anyone know the cost of the Onyx with Rogers?

I had read either $299 or $399 with contract. I'm hoping it will be no more than $299. That's pushing it already.

I hope it's $199, seriously. I don't think I could afford $299 dollars right now. Plus, my 8320 just got dunked in water. I need a phone, a BB, for $199 and I want it to be the Driftwood/Onyx.

i'm really hoping for the $199 as well!!! but i have a feeling it will either be $250-$299 because I don' think they will want to decrease the price of the 8900 quite yet

$300 at launch for sure. Get ready for it folks. It will be so. On a side note, $100 isn't that big of a difference. I spend more per month on cigars and brew! Looks like I'll have to cut back for a few months.

^Show off much? Nah, is joking; I know you were just trying to make a point.

I would say it'll cost 299$ and, to be honest, I think it is the right price.

considering the bold is $400 with a $100 MIR and the 8900 is $299 with a $100 MIR i think they should drop the curve 8900 by a $100 and make the 9700 $299 with a $100 MIR

    Just my 2 cents

Tis the nature of people to want what they don't have. Once they have it, they want better.

Probably $399 with contract. I believe that's how much the Bold was when it first came out last year.

Full retail, I'm not sure. Right now full retail for 9000 is $649 (Rogers). It stands to reason that when new devices are released, the predecessor is generally given a price cut, normally by $50 or $100. I will hazard to guess that Rogers will drop the 9000 price to $599 and 9700 will be $699 off contract.
