Just letting the Curve and Pearl users know that there is update OS for their phones. If you go to the verizon wireless website you can download it. The curve os is 4.5.0.138 and the pearl is the same 4.5.0.138. Enjoy. If already posted I apologize I didnt find the post.

Hmmm I wonder why my Curve came out with 4.5.0.160 if the .138 OS is new. I thought higher numbers tend to be newer.

@saadutr.....yours was probably .160 b/c you are on Sprint. .138 is the latest "approved" Verizon OS.

I was on .131, .138 and then .160 and since gone back to .131 (Sprint w/ Vendor file deleted) b/c the "signal bounce" was horrible on .138 and .160 so I am a little hesitant to load this file.

Also, aside from you being on Sprint, you probably also have an 8330m.

    I am thinking the same...

I wonder if the call timer is still missing on this as it was on the Telus version?

Ahhh I've been caught lol. But I upraded it to the 4.5/4.6/5.0 hybrid, and it seemed to have made my Berry faster.

I wonder if the call timer is missing in VZW's release of .138, it probably is.

What were some of the other issues with .138? I can't remember.

Signal bounce (1XEV, 1X, 1xev, 1x), missing call timer. Those were the main ones. Some complained the wake up from backlight timeout lag was still there I think.

lol. Put it through the wringer, if anyone can find bugs in an OS it's you BnG.

Do a *228, Option 2 following the upgrade and see if the network indicator holds stable at 1XEV.

Yeah, do a *228, Option 2 for prl update programming. See if the network indicator stays at a solid 1XEV, or if it cycles between 1XEV, 1X, 1xev, 1x. It may not do it right away, but if it does, a battery pull will make it go away.

Also, see if the call timer is missing while in a call.

Yes, definitely dial *228 send and select option 2 and watch your radio signal.

4.5.0.77 is not a new OS, it's actually full of bugs, the biggest one being the dreaded "Speakerphone Blast"

Sounds like the CSR you spoke with has not read their e-mail about the new OS being posted on VZW's website.

Imagine that, someone in Cust Svc not having a clue at VZW

After you do *228, option 2 watch your signal indicator.....does it stay on 1XEV or start bouncing 1XEV, 1xev, 1X.

Also, make a phone call and see if the little timer displays on the screen showing how long you have been on the call.
