    I have a storm on o2 in the UK. I will be heading abroad for a week, whilst I still need to be able to make and receive the odd call email is not completely neccersary.

    Is there away of turning off the push email etc? So im not constantly connected and downloading emails like I am at home. I dont want to pay the extorionate data costs for roaming.

    Yes. Click Connection Manager >> Mobile Network Options ans set Data Services to Off...

    you are probably already on holiday or have returned but you can also select the data service off while roaming in mobile network.
