Its an update message in your messages folder. Just check on the message and the notification will go away. No need to delete app world cuz of this lol

There is usually three message folders (sms folder, email folder and messages folder) on the bold. Check them all. And we assure you, you will find a notification you have overlooked.

No update message in my messages folder. Icon won't go away after updating appworld itself.

It's an app that's pushed to the devices, which would probably explain why it won't go away using the same means you use to try and remove other icons.
All: I am have had the same issue. I have looked through my messages but am not seeing these update messages. Is there a search team I can use (from the subject or body of the notification) to try and find the update notification?
As many have stated, I too had the same problem. But i assure you, the only reason it is still on the home screen is because you haven't clicked on the message notification.
Open all your message icons and see if there is one you overlooked notifying you of the update.
I went crazy looking till I went a couple days back in my email and saw they were there.
Thanks Madness. Do you recall who the "sender" was. Just trying to figure out what kind of message I am looking for.
It only said something like Notification etc...
It came in my messages icon and so I would check there first and see if you may have overlooked it. I saw that the 3 came all at one time and said something like notification, and talked of the new upgrades being available. I just opened all 3 and then the icon went away at the top and I deleted them.
I had the same issue. Went through 2 weeks of messages. Wasn't there. Did a reboot (took battery out and replaced) seems to have cleared up the issue... for now. Thanks all.
Just wipe the device, reinstall the os and re-download all apps. Why not? Since everyone is taking extreme measures for a simple problem. Can't get get rid of icon? delete app world, bbm acting up a little? revert/downgrade, led won't stop blinking? send phone back to att for a refurb.
My biggest problem here is that I can't find where the message is.
Mookish saying we are overacting is pretty much ignoring every single post, all we want is a word in the email so we can search for it, instead he pretty much blows everything out of proportion and doesn't read at all.
The UI seriously needs to be updated. You should be able to SELECT the notification and it should take you to where the message is. Why make the users do all the work, especially when its quiet clearly confusing.
Well, I STILL don't have a notification message in the Messages folder, my SMS folder, or any of my email folders... And I never found one to delete. I know how the messaging service and notifications work on BB, and I know how to show hidden icons and folders. I even know how to show only unread messages with a key command, so new ones jump right out.
The same thing the OP describes happened to me when I first upgraded to .15. I was impressed with the feature when .11 prompted me to upgrade, but became very frustrated when I couldn't find the message, all my App World apps were up-to-date, and I'd done several battery pulls.
I even treated it like one of the notifications mentioned in the 8,000 threads like this one, where patience is what finally led to a strange, stubborn notification finally just going away. In all those cases, I too figured it was probably user error, missing the message in a hidden folder. But this one was stubborn, so I tried their suggestion and waited. And waited. And waited...
Once I'd tried everything and totally lost patience, you know what solved it for me? Deleting and re-installing App World OTA. Worked like a charm. So whether you think it "makes sense" or is "extreme," don't jump all over people for making the suggestion. I'm telling you it worked for me when nothing else would, and it just might help the OP. Sometimes there really are glitches/bugs, and they don't always "make sense."
Maybe 99% of the time your sarcastic answer would have been right. In my case, the solution you all are rudely and condescendingly bashing is exactly what worked. Ease up and don't take this place so seriously that we all stop being helpful.
