I have an iphone 3g that wiped because I planned to sell it when I switched to vzw (no att coverage at my new house), so I wondering if there is a way to use it like an ipod touch without activating it because it is stuck on that screen. And if so, can you explain how in detail? Thank you guys. Sorry if there is already threads like this.

Jailbreak with hactivation... Use redsn0w 0.8 which you can find here and you should be good to go.

Yes... Via iTunes, like always.

The only difference between what you'll have and a perfectly working iPhone on AT&T is "No Service" will always be at the top and of course your phone and SMS won't work. Other than that everything else will work perfectly. Email, Camera, App Store, iTunes, etc... etc... etc...
