If you live in a busy metropolitan area where Open Table has many accounts than it is useful

If you do not than it is completely worthless

Doesn't Poynt also function in much the same way as Open Table for finding restaurants ?

From what I understand, Open Table also allows you to make reservations, not just to locate restaurants.

Open Table is a service that many restaurants are beginning to use which allows customers to make reservations and view open reservations times without having to call/contact the restaurant.

This is very useful with restaurants that do not have morning/lunch hours.

It is always a good idea to call and confirm your reservation when possible.

NOTE: Only restaurants that have set up accounts with Open Table will be available... this is why I say it is really only useful in busy Metro areas where the restaurants are proactive enough to be using it
