is it possible to use blackberry messenger free on pay as you go? or will you be paying for it like the internet? if so, does o2 do a bolt on service for bbm?

Im not sure that you can do that.. but then again I could be wrong. I know that BBM is used in the BB data plan

BBM works through the BlackBerry internet BIS or BES. if you only have a "normal" internet plan you will not have access to BBM or PIN messages.

When I looked into it (just less than a year ago) on the O2 and Orange networks they did not have Blackberry service for pay as you go.

Yes you can use BBM on payg, I have an unlocked storm on orange payg, use it ALL the time. switch to orange and on registering they will give yo free blackberry internet service for 6months worth �30, then you will pay yrly fee of �60 or �5/month

You have to have a blackberry email address.. Which comes with the blackberry data plans.. You cannot use BBM without it.

Wow my post was a while ago, what I meant was that if its unlimited data pay as you go then yes, bbm should be included. Provided you have BIS or BES service not just talk and text

You can use BBM without a contract.
e.g. Orange have a �5 a month which gives you a BIS data plan and BBM if you are on pay as you go.
So you do not have to have a contract or a permanent data plan (BIS/BES).

yes it does work you have to call your carrier and say you want bbm and they say ok. then you ave to pay �5/month

You need to contact your service provider and get a BLACKBERRY Data Plan (BIS) that includes BlackBerry Messenger.
