Does anyone know when telus will release .148 or another updated firmware for it? The newest I believe is currently .122

You can use the Verizon 148, or the Mexican (I forget the carriers name) 151 OS. Just delete the Vendor.xml file first.

I am using 148 on telus with no problems at all. With 151 I had intermittent radio / data problems.

I'm running .151 on Telus. I actually called Telus once to ask them, but they didn't have a clue with that I was talking about. Like someone above suggested, you can install any OS by first deleting the vendor xml file.

Telus takes a longer time than a lot of other carriers to release updates. I got tired of waiting. As mentioned above you have the option to load some of the newer OS's from other vendors. Jumping from .122 to .148 made a big difference with my Storm but then I discovered the magic of hybrids and loaded a .151/5.0 version (BBCrackman's) and it's been a HUGE improvement! If you do load a leaked OS then you're not officially supported by Telus if anything goes wrong with your phone but you always have the option to downgrade back to an official OS if you need to. Plus you can find all the support you'd even need right here on Crackberry.com. Make sure to check out the guides on how to install leaked OS's and get comfortable with the whole process before you start. I was nervous as **** the first time I tried it but it worked like a charm and I haven't looked back since. Oh and don't get greedy like I did and go for the 5.0 release just yet. Telus Storms are not quite ready for it!
