I have a contact that I would like to assign to a custom phone alert. When I do this, I noticed that it also creates a custom message alert for that person.

Does anyone know if there is a way to assign a custom phone/ringtone alert only and have the message alert for that person just be the default alert?

Not that I know of. I have wondered the same thing as well. But at least when you change the alerts to vibrate all, it vibrates even contact alerts. The Storm with .75 didn't.

At this time, you have to assign both custom alerts. I just set the custom message alert to be the same that I have for everyone else. Kind of a pain, but it works.

This has been annoying me as well. I like having custom ringtones for a lot of my contacts but don't want custom message tones as well.

Now when i assign a ringtone I have to asign the text message tone as well. Any idea how to set the default tone as the custom msg tone for everyone?
