My 8900 quit scrolling to the right. I have tried several trackballs, and the story always comes up the same. Up, down, left, all ok...but going right just doesn't work. I have also wiped my phone tried various OSs etc. I suspect its the hardware, more specifically one of the track ball sensors.
I found one site that sells the trackball sensor board, but they are "Out of Stock" with no expected date to have them available. Does anyone know of a site where they sell the track ball sensor board with flex cable? Here is a link to the out of stock item so you can see exactly what I am looking for.
I can not yet post links on the site, but if you want to see the out of stock item you can go to the site "cnn.cn" and search for "blackberry curve 8900 trackball sensor board"
just a thought...what do you have your trackball sensativity set to?
Since I upgraded to 231 I noticed that my trackball would roll great up, down and left but just would not roll right very well.
The sensativity had been reset to the default when I did the upgrade....once I changed it back to what I was using before, it was all good.
I am sure everyone is thinking "boy, she sure is an ***** for not checking that", but I just thought I would share in case this may be the problem with the op.
Just a thought - maybe it's the trackball itself. Did you try changing it? Or repositioning it 180 degrees? Maybe the magnet on one of the rollers is defective or demagetized.
Edit: Sorry, you did try changing the trackball already. Sorry.
Someone told me that the track ball is supposed to go in a certian way.... you may want to try rotating the trackball around and see if it fixes your issue!
the trackball on the 8900 seems to be notorious for that same problem, my advice is call at&t and exchange it. my wife had the same problem and mine was depressed permanently (i couldnt press it in) and another friend has the same problem as my wife the trackball just doesnt respond when scrolling in certain angles.
