    Hi,

A place for you guys to share your findings of this OS. As mentioned on other threads this OS seems to be based on a older platform, therefore, is it good, bad or damn ugly ?

    Cheers

    Ash.

To me, it seems way faster than 282.
    Just a feeling.

But, BB Key to switch between apps doesn't work.
Plus, when you click the BB Key to validate (like "moving icons" and click to confirm) it doesn't work too.

Just picked up 9000M_PBr4.6.0_rel499_PL4.0.0.183_A4.6.0.291.exe -- Yeah, as others have noted it looks based on an older platform. I am currently at .282 and had to select "Replace the device's applications with the older version provided by the BlackBerry Desktop Software". Install went smooth as butter (as usual). I can confirm the alt-tab-ness of being able to switch between apps is missing... Also, I do not have the "2g & 3g" selection which I had under .282. Tested my apps -- they work. (Amaze, Where, Poynt, GoodFoodNearYou, etc). Media player doesn't seem to have any increase or decrease speed over .282 -- it plays my .mp3 and video files no prob.

Overall -- ehh. if you're at .282 I'd stick to .282 unless you wanna be ultra-l33t then .291 for you.

I downloaded it, but that's pretty much a deal-breaker for me.

Absolutely, what a huge omission! Mind you, this OS is using the same platform version from 4.6.0.216 and this wasn't a feature until .247

So, for me ALT + Return button let me switch from apps (not with the BB key anyway).
I'm still able to choose between 3G or 2G or 3G/2G.
The media player, especially Pictures player is loading faster my pictures.

    Nothing more to say.

I give the .291 a try for a week and I'll give you my moods.

i don't believe this is an "omission" i wouldn't install this i'm running .282, and if i'm not mistaken this is a downgrade, .282 platform is 4.0.0.235, this one is 4.0.0.183, so uh, no thanks, why downgrade you phone? this is some hybrid OS a carrier made, not a new one..

yeah bros... no 2g & 3g option like I had under .282. Oh yeah ... I have about the same memory free (26MB) as I did under .282. Also, I've been testing the 2g (EDGE) and 3G in various parts of my office... 3G speed is about the same as under .282; EDGE speed is ... well, lacking as it always is. I've made several calls, texts, and now MMSs. They work ... just like I said before, if you're happy with .282 I'd stick to it...
