Pfft.. a rehash of the Bold. I dont get this.. RIM needs to stop adding the same hardware, same boring OS into devices and calling it another name.

The Bold has all those already(minus the higher res screen) and yet people manage to get excited about it.

the screen size might suggest the same size unit as the 8900 curve or Tour, with 3g this would be straight on my list for upgrade!

I hear what you say about updating an existing platform tho.

Higher resolution != smaller/bigger display. It basically means they are able to pack more pixels into the same size screen.

so because it boasts a 480x360 display, doesnt mean that it's the same size as the 8900/Tour.. It could very well be the same size as the Bold..

Remember, the Storm has 480x360 res, as does the Tour/8900.. the pixels on the 8900/Tour are smaller because the screen is smaller.

I Think RIM has a creativity block. Because all the blackberries with all of the + 1 thing and -1 thing and a little more memory but minus a high res screen is getting old and repetitive now. Waiting for the Blackberry 10000! with all of the best features of today's modern phones put into 1.

    Agree completely,
instead of rehashing the phones by improving screen res or minor things like that - they should focus on better software, application development, and the areas where they are not as great.

My tour will arrive today and I will not upgrade to Onyx or Magnum when they come out. It appears as though Blackberry is already ideal device but with less applications out there as on Windows etc.

When will they have more free apps since we are consumers who want more - it will be great!

Regardless of the model number, the fact that it does not appear to be 3G, I will wait and not trade in my Bold.

Very possible. I wonder if the two different model numbers represent the trackpad and trackball versions of the Onyx/Driftwood?

The does sound like a few other devices from this info. But... This is just the camera, radios, screen res, etc. Doesnt really tell you if the style of the phone is different. These specs didnt even speculate about ram, device mem, etc. Cant really know if the phone is a better device then other "similar" devices until we know more. Although the trying to keep track of all the code names and figuring out what devices they will be is half the fun of cb!
