Its a lesser curve but with a 512 processor, 256MB RAM and the same OS performance wise the 8520 and 8900 will be the same. Only thing missing is screen resolution and flash. Overall with the trackpad and media buttons the 8520 might be a better device.

8520 doesn't have GPS either right?

And I'm jealous of the trackpad.

I'd love to have one on a berry. But I do love the trackball. I don't see the trackpad being too customizable with colors and such. Still, would really enjoy using one.

I'll get to use one when the driftwood hits. I don't think I feel comfortable dissing another blackberry, though. We've had to put up with the bold people doing it to us and didn't like much. I think the 8520 is going to be a fine device.

I have always though that the track ball has been the weakest link for the Balckberry and I'm happy to see that the move has started to replace the ball with the optical track pad.

+1 for trackball and scroll wheel.

I can just about manage my laptop track-pad

However, with that being said, it would be interesting just to try it.

    Trackball for the win.

I'm not downgrading from the 8900 to get the 8520. just for the record.
