Okay, let me explain the case. I installed blackberry messenger 5.0 and then decided to uninstall it from my blackberry as I didn't like it. People have been saying that to install the 4.7 bbm I just need to plug in my blackberry with desktop manager and so I did. However when I plug it in, I don't see any option to install blackberry messenger in my application loader. Please help me..

I have an unlocked blackberry with at&t provider

The OS needs to be installed on your PC for this to work. Or a valid backup file.

Well... where can I get the OS so that I can install it on my PC?? Do I then need to do a reinstall of the OS in my blackberry?? If that's the case will my blackberry still be unlocked?

Actually it does. 5.0 beta uses 4.7 where the default is 4.6

Also that's a bad link. It takes you to the 4.0/4.1 OS version. Sorry.

That OS is available right here on CB. Or visit blackberry.com and download straight from there. I'll look for a link.

Start here. Make sure to read up on this process if you're not comfortable. You can brick your device if you mess up. Make sure to delete vendor.xml. Good luck

My suggestion is not to use BBM 5.0, it's not good with your battery life
