I'm upgrading from curve 8310 to a storm and was wondering if you guys could guide me to a specific thread or give me some tips to make that switch with as minimal losses (software and settings) as possible.

BBDM Device Switch Wizard is your friend or backup/restore works too but just takes a little longer

    Just to reassure you.

I was mugged in Feb 09 and had my 8310 stolen, I had backed all my data on BBDM on my laptop. I didn't replace my BB until July 09 ( a second hand 8900, without a USB cable).

I was easily able to connect the 8900 to my laptop via BBDM using bluetooth and in less than 10 minutes all my old settings, contacts, etc were on my 8900 (including email addresses I no longer have).

It's awesome. As mentioned above use the BB Desktop manager.
