Ever since i upgraded to the tour, i have been getting at least one call failed a day, all in random spots. I used to have the curve and never had any problems with reception.
Tried a battery pull and of course a *228.
Has anyone else noticed anything with signal strength of this phone?
Mine has dropped calls at least once a day since I had it. They are sending me a new Tour out I should have it Tuesday hopefully this problem will be corrected.
signal strength is fine for me. i believe there is a thread about calling in and changing something to improve call bars. but to tell u the truth i have yet to recieve a call on this device. =( no one likes me.
You might check to see if "Global" is the default network setting. In the US, change it in Options/Mobile Network/Network Technology to 1xEV and that should help after you go to Manage Connections, turn them off, then back on again. It worked for me...
I agree that the signal on my Tour hasn't been as good as my old vx-6800 and to be quite honest my calls aren't as clear either. This was my initial impression of the phone. Since I lost my Tour on Saturday, i've been back on my old phone til i get the replacement and that confirmed it for me. Hopefully it was just the phone and the new replacement will sound better and have better range.
I typically had 3-4 bars at my house, anywhere including the basement. Now I'm lucky if I get 2 or 1... and I've dropped nearly every call I've received , and actually roamed several times.. I'm calling sprint today as my tour MUST be defective.
I had a little problem with the reception, but after restarting it seemed to work fine. Also if you're on Verizon be sure to dial *228 and update the roaming capabilities. It seems to help a bit.
yeah mine is goofy too.. its anoying.. ill give it a day or so more if its still being goofy ill get it swaped. but it will go from 1x to 1xev and i notice it in apps.. like the apps wont work.. then it goes into 1xev and its great... i already changed my pref from global to 1xev.. no difference.. just tried *228 but that shouldnt do anything being its only 2 days old.. well see
too bad, I just got my replacement today and it's the same way...drops calls consistantly in my house, and signal is all over the place... I guess it's back to my 8703
This is one the reasons I returned my 2 Tours last week. While the call quality was amazing, the reception was terrible compared to my 8330. I would drop calls in places I never had before. Hopefully they'll fix the issue in a few months.
