Listen to this. I ordered my Tour through the 800 number on the 12 and received it Wednsday. On Thursday I saw a Verizon commercial for the Storm where they stated people would receive 50 dollars off all Blackberries. I called Verizon and asked about it. They said the offer did not extend to the Tour. On Friday the offer was up on the website and featured the Tour in the forefront. Again I called Verizon and asked about my credit, having purchased a Tour. She could not find the code for the credit but told me if I saw a Verizon Wireless commercial with the Tour and the 50 buck credit, she'd give it to me. Lo and behold I saw the commercial today. Now here's the kicker. If you are enrolled in the Verizon V.I.P program when you early upgrade you get a 50 credit towards your new device. So if the phone is 199.99 after a 70 dollar rebate, then the 50 for VIP, and finally the credit for the Promo, you end up spending 99.99 for a brand new Blackberry that started out 269.99 with a 2 year contract! Awesome huh?
The stuff in the sunday paper today specifically stated "does not include the 9630" or somesuch. I remember seeing the ad, and reading it for just that reason. Looks like they fixed it.
There is an ad on the Verizon website that says $50 dollars off blackberries with a new 2 year contract. It is in a box on the bottom right of the page in a circulating box with 6 other ads.
They will probably give it to you. I got my Global credit and VIP credit after the fact by calling. Only took one call. My bill is -100.00 right now, but I just paid it. Between my BB, my wife's and my data line my VZW bill is a freaking car payment every month! At least it will be $100.00 cheaper this month.
Technically speaking people that are VIPs who's NE2 are available now, if they get the Tour, it'll be $99 anyway. Their NE2 credit is $100, only newly renewed contracts drop that to $50. And you know they get $100 off because you have to have a $79.99 or higher price plan in good standing to be a VIP when I last checked and anything that high or higher gets you the higher rate NE2 discounts (older being $100 off, newer being dropped down to $50 off).
So what number can I call to get my other rebate? I ordered my Tour online and paid $199, so I would like to call and ask if I can get the new rebate also.

Is that referring to the $50 off any BlackBerry or the Global Upgrade discount?

ironcally, she took that ($50 off any blackberry). because she couldn't find anything on a global upgrade discount. she said that it was much easier to credit me back for something that is openly promoted rather than trying to enter codes in for a "ghost" promotion.

well it's good to know i'll be getting my 50 bucks back in the end weather or not it is from the global upgrade discount!
thanks for sharing your success with this (:
p.s. do you know when this promotion ends perchance? I know promotions like this usually last more than a week, but I'm curious.
