I realize that with the Tour just being released, some apps are not working properly quite yet. The reason I'm making this thread is to ensure that perhaps my issue is permissions related or something else other than "wait for the developer to come out with a new version".
I tried installing Virca 1.1.20 and connecting to an irc server and I get the following message:
I get the same message using jmIrc. Any tricks/suggestions about getting these to work or just be patient? I'm also open to suggestions if you guys use another IRC program that you could recommend.
I'm also looking for SSH client recommendations for BB/Tour.
I'd suggest MidPSSH for ssh. They use a java version that isn't dependant on your exact phone model so it should work. I still have the 8330 so i'm not talking from experience. Also i'm on my 8830 atm or i'd get you a link, just google it.

I'm having the same issue with jMIrc on my Verizon Tour too. I hope that we can come up with a fix soon. I'll take a look tomorrow and see if I can figure out something, providing that someone doesn't beat me to it

here is how I got MidpSSH working on my Tour..
edit a session and change "Connection Type" from 'Default' to 'TCP/IP'
hope that helps
have a nice day
oh freakin sweet! thx...works now! i no longer receive that weird error.
i wonder if there is a way to connect to an ssh server w/ a different port than default(22)
edit: nvm.... used the obvious host(colon)port syntax
Now, back to irc... how can you get it to work on the Tour? I've tried a few different ones, and I keep getting the infamous "java.io.IOException: Invalid url parameter" error.
yes. i'm aware of google search & have tried it, but it's not helping my specific problem with JmIrc. I've tried entering that info in the http proxy stuff(for my provider in jmirc settings), but it doesn't seem to help.
