Hey guys I need some help here. I have had my 8330 for about 6 months now and had zero problems. I upgraded to OS .131 and that eliminated the speaker blast on my end but recently here whoever calls me has been hearing an awful noise when I answer the phone. Any ideas to what this could possibly be? Searching didn't come up with any remidies to my problem.

I know .131 has an answer call delay but I don't recall anyone saying anything about the person on the other end hearing a load noise.

You could try loading a hybrid.

Then again the hybrid might not help because I used the .131 radio and phone app

I feel bad because eveyone is jealous over my curve and I feel bad they hear this awful noise when itas supposed to be the greatest phone haha! It hurts their ear when they answer its so bad.

Well I loaded the hybrid and I like it a lot, but it still didn't solve my problem

Anyone else have other suggestions?

Have you tried updating it to another OS other than the hybrid?

Does your phone happen to be on vibrate when you answer the calls? People have told me they hear an odd noise when I pick up, but only when its on vibrate

Gilde, No its when its on Normal. Its very wierd that nobody else seems to have this problem.

Mbudden, No I haven't tried updating to .138 or .160 because I really like .131 but I guess I can give it a shot!

I have this exact same problem. People say they hear a terrible screeching noise when I pick up, that lasts about a second. Any updates on this issue? It would be great to figure this one out- other than this, I love the phone (but this is a nasty issue- makes me look somewhat unprofessional).

Zoomanoff: Glad to know I'm not the only one who has this problem.I see your on the 8830 and I'm on the 8330 so maybe this is a verizon problem? Idk

I have an 8330 with verizon as well, but only have this problem if my phone is on vibrate and I happen to answer it at the same time as it is physically vibrating. If I pick up inbetween vibrations then there is no noise.

Well for the past 2 days I can't get this problem to reoccur! Very strange! I guess I'm not going to worry about it I suppose!
