How do i find out for sure if i got a 8330m or regular 8330 before i go thry the whole swap routine?????Thanks Someone said something about search for your phone???
Just do an Options > About. The device is listed. Also note whether there is an ESN or MEID number listed. If you have an 8330m listed as device, then it should have an MEID number. If the device is 8330, there most likely is an ESN number, but some 8330 devices have an MEID number instead.
For your MMS issue, you want 8330m listed as device.
He should be happy with the trouble they have been having with the M, id rather have an old one!
Yes, people are having separate issues related to having the 8330m. some are having problems with GPS and others say there are problems getting some apps to load because the 8330m is not recognized as a compatible device.
Or the radio signal looks like a rollercoaster, lol.
I had an M with none of those problems, Now the only big deal about this is not being able to use my contacts list to forward picture mail, Basically i just want what i paid for, If i bought a new Dodge Durango and was having trouble with it it would be unacceptable to me if i took it back and they wanted to give me another Durango that didn't have power windows,Automatic transmission or cruise control IT SUCKS that i originally purchased an 8330m and when they replace it they can just replace it with anything they have on the shelf. Thanks alot for the help both of you.......Just starting out a bad day
Oh and not to mention that Sprint called and said they never got the defective phone back that i sent back 2 and a half weeks ago in the padded envelope they provided??????
Here's a quick question. I have an 8330 and it has an ESN number. I don't receive a link when I get a picture MMS, it sends the picture. Is this normal? Not that I'm complaining...lol.
Well, as others have posted, apparently the "m" means you have an MEID instead of an ESN. Also, from what I understand, if you have an 8330m, then you will not recieve a link when recieving an MMS. I have a regular 8330 with an ESN but I still recieve pictures, not a link.
MMS is also carrier dependant for the 8330 and the 8330m
On the 8330 MMS has to be processed through server and then sent to your phone. Most of the time is will be a link to photo or video. But it could also have the photo or video (resized) in the MMS itself.
On the 8330m MMS can be set directly to the phone with no server processing. So its "True MMS" and is embedded.
