I have an 8330m on os 4.5.0.131 from sprint and I notice my signal strength going from full bars to none back to full down to 1X back to 1XEV back to none all throughout the day. It's usually when I'm coming out of an application like ubertwitter or myspace but does it even when i'm not in an app. I removed every application and it still does it. I looked at a phone at the store that was a 8330m that wasn't provisioned for data and the signal was perfect no dips.. Anyone else seeing this same problem?
I have a similar problem with my Sprint 8330m except it constantly search for a signal causing it to switch signal type and strength all the time no matter what I'm doing or not doing on it. Is it a Sprint or device issue?

I had the same sort of issue, I applied the Hybrid OS here http://forums.crackberry.com/f52/8330m-160-138-5-0-hybrid-beta-245836/ and it corrected the issue.
Just a thought

FWIW, I have an 8330m on a different carrier and see the same thing. However, it appears that I'm not actually losing signal when it shows no bars and then flops back to full signal.....like it is a display problem not a signal issue. At least that is what it seems like. I have read of other 8330m users with sporadic signal issues as well.
Sounds like it is a 8330m problem that is fixable, but RIM hasn't officially or unofficially released a patch for it.
RIM - Please add fix soon before my one and only experience with BB is my last. Pretty pleeeeez, with whatever you want on top?

10schick - The hybrid OS is very easy to apply and solves this issue AND makes the blackberry more responsive (via more free RAM). Even though RIM has'nt officially released these fixes I would apply them just for these reasons. It seems to me with every OS release there is some things that are much better and somethings that get worse. I am just glad RIM makes it possible (via design or ignorance) to use the best of each release.
Tdubby - I followed xlider's instructions and my phone is working better than before. Here's the link to the "2mos old 8330m with serious issues. Bricked?" thread. Hope it resolves your issues.
