- Been looking around at different protective skins for my 8820.
One looked pretty good, but only has the screen part available. On the other hand, I'm thinking about getting one of the privacy filters for the screen, but am wondering if that would be a bad choice becasue it will lack the protection of the skin.
I don't want anything bulky because I want to be able to put my BB into it's holder in the car and use the standard holster.
Thoughts? Suggestions?

Patrick03-18-08 08:14 AMLike 0 - Oh really? They don't have a full body version? Didn't know that...
Here's what I did find:
Blackberry World Skins New Skins and Decals for the Blackberry World including Blackberry World Skins (but they don't cover the screen)
invisibleSHIELD | BlackBerry 8800 Case, Screen Protector, Cover, Shield, Skin, Invisible Shield
Hope this helps!03-18-08 10:32 AMLike 0 - I'm in the process of switching over to an 8820 from a WM5 Device, but I have a ShieldZone (shieldzone.com or invisibleSHIELD.com) screen protector on my current device. It has served me well over the last 6 months and planning on getting one for the new 8820 when it arrives. Also I know they have a version that covers the whole 8820, not just the screen03-18-08 11:11 AMLike 0

I did both stated above and works out great for protection. I also recommend that as well.03-18-08 11:23 AMLike 0 - I'm in the process of switching over to an 8820 from a WM5 Device, but I have a ShieldZone (shieldzone.com or invisibleSHIELD.com) screen protector on my current device. Patrick03-18-08 01:02 PMLike 0 - Granted they do not have a full coverage option listed under the 8820, but wouldn't the 8800 or 8830 be the same form factor? They have full coverage options for those two devices.03-19-08 11:41 AMLike 0

I might have to email them and ask. I might also just get the screen cover as I use the rubber cover I have when it's not in the vehicle.
I'm also going to ask them if I could put a privacy filter on top of the skin without a problem, in case I want to do this.
Thanks all for your suggestions.

- I'm currently using an Otterbox on my 8800. It comes with a hard plastic holster that includes a belt clip. It also has a screen protector as well. When placed in the holster it puts the screen to sleep and is in the holster backwards so the screen is protected. Other than placing it in a metal box it's super protection for the 8800 series BB's11-09-08 05:31 AMLike 0
- I'm using the skins from decalgirl.com .... pretty cool and as advertised. getting a lot of compliments. will also make great gifts for the upcoming season.11-09-08 10:42 AMLike 0
- I'd like give another shout out to bestskinsever.com. I've used it previously for a 1st generation iPod Nano (yes, the version that was notorious for being so scratch prone!), loved it so much, that I had to try the skins again for my Blackberry 8800.
I believe the 8820 has almost, if not the exact same form factor as the 8800. I bought the full body skin from bestskinsever.com, and it's been gravy from there. I do have to mention, getting the skin to fit, and more importantly, stick, 100% on the chrome sidings is a little tricky. I'd spend some more time on those pieces to ensure you get a great looking phone when the product is all done drying.
By the way, I also use the standard BB holster, and the skin works no problem with it (not that any skins should have any issues, being they do not add any significant bulk, but I thought I'd put that out there anyway).11-21-08 01:02 PMLike 0 -
