This morning when I powered up my bb curve 8330 after a night of charging, the timer was consistently running on and off while I was checking my texts and emails from the morning. This went on for about 5 mins, and then the screen shut off and an "app error" was displayed and immediately shut off.

Has anyone had this problem before?

This can happen when your File Free Memory runs below a certain amount (around 10MB for your BB). Pull the battery and check your File Free Memory under Settings > Status

    Here is my file free

    30800340 Bytes

Is that in danger? And could it be that high just after powering up?

The exact same thing happened to me this afternoon. I had left the phone alone for awhile and when I picked it up again it was a white screen that said app err and the only option was to reset. I had plenty of memory on the phone.

That's weird. Just for kicks, what service do you have? I doubt it has anything to do with it, but its weird that you experienced the same issue on your bb.
