I have a new Sprint 8330, Since I have had it my MMS has not worked, I can send them but when someone sends me one I get a text that says...
You have new Picture Mail!
Click Go/View to see now.
I have been on the phone with Spint support, BB Support, and Advanced BB Support and no one can figure it out.
I have loaded and re-loaded 4.5.0.131.... Doesnt work.
I loaded 4.5.0.160....... Doesnt work..
BTW I do have the Sprint "Simply Everything Plan"
I had a Nextel 8350i and switched to this 8330 about a month ago and still have no MMS... I literally have been on the phone for OVER 4 hours, and went through 2 phones, and now they want to send another.
WTF??????
Oh and for the record the last 3 "techs" I got on the phone SUCKED, I asked them and they didnt even OWN Blackberrys, and you can tell all they are doing is typing in a problem and then reading the steps you need to take...
What happened to FIRST HAND EXPERIENCE????
Sure not having the pics go right to my SMS/MMS inbox is not hurting my life in anyway, but now its the principle of it. I PAY for MMS, I want it..
Do you have the 8330, or the 8330m? Go to options>about to find this out. The 8330 from Sprint uses the "picture mail" for MMS. But I think the 8330m has the true MMS.
I have pulled the battery about once day for the last month, and NOTHING. I have two friends with a Sprint 8330 (NOT THE M) and they recieve them no problem..
I had the same problem on Monday. Started out of the blue, they worked fine sunday night, and starting Monday I was getting those same text messages.
When I called they had me goto Options -> Mobile Network -> BB Key -> Start Provisioning... Then I waited until that was done, and then did a battery pull and it worked fine after that.
I am sure they had you do that already, so maybe it is something with your phone.
So do you have the 8330 or 8330m? It makes a difference. The message you are seeing sounds like an 8330. Check "Options->About" and tell us what it says.
Yes, that is true, but the 8330m IS completely different from the 8330. Sprint started using them when they ran out of ESD numbers. The m stands for MEID. However, the statement stands. The 8330m software handles MMS messages completely differently.
That's why it matters which you have.
And I have the 8330m on the Sprint works, my wife has the 8330m on the Sprint network, and they both work. No button to push to download a picture. The Picture just appears with the MMS message.
So if you are seeing something different, either your phone is different, or your phone is broken. In which case it would be a good idea to insist that Sprint replace it if it is still in warranty.
